My inspiration comes from nature. I see nature as the greatest colour palette an artist can have for getting inspired – the light differs day to day, shadows and highlights can be subtle or extreme. The seasons bring different stages of weather and life for the trees, flowers, insects and animals – domestic, farmed or wild – all enhanced by natures magical sounds.
I have a passion for wildlife, in particular birds of prey and big cats (I settle for domestic cats in the house!) As a dog owner too, regular walks often provide a snap of inspiration just by being outdoors, enjoying the fresh air, and admiring what the land has to offer, from a whole landscape scene or focus on a particular flower.
I have spent many years creating artwork, using different mediums along the way and finally settling with pastels as my preferred choice. I also undertake commissions particularly pet portraits.
