I’m Jeanette Mercer, artist and textile designer, based near Horsham in West Sussex. I paint watercolours – mainly flowers and animals – and turn them into designs that are sustainably printed on fabric to create beautiful homewares. I also offer my designs as prints, and a limited number of original paintings.
I spent most of my high school life, when allowed, in the school art rooms (and probably in truth some times when I should have been elsewhere!) I was then, and still am, fascinated by colour, pattern and texture – particularly that inspired by the natural world.
Due to the layered way I work I am able to customise my fabric designs, offering clients an affordable way to have fabric that works perfectly with existing decor, and minimising waste.
I believe we and our homes benefit from some creativity and individuality. I design what makes me happy – I hope some of my designs make you smile too.
