I have drawn and painted for many years and I am largely self taught. I have been attending a local art class for the last two years and this has built up my confidence and helped me to begin to define my own style. My main focus at the moment is creating lino prints which are inspired by the natural world.
When I am walking the dog I usually spot something interesting that I can take home or photograph and this is the starting point for developing a print. Some of my prints focus on plant forms and shapes, such as seed heads or leaves, and other prints are informed by my own photographs or drawings. I work in a number of different media including pencil and watercolour and I have also worked in wire and ceramic to make 3D sculptures.
