I was given my grandfather’s paintbox as a child, and it marked a lifelong love of drawing and painting. As an adult, family life and a teaching career were a constant, until a chance to study for an art degree as a mature student, a life changing experience. I realised just what was involved in a regular and committed art practice!
I then returned to teaching with an emphasis on outreach work for museums, schools and galleries.
Since retirement, and a relative newcomer to Horsham, I have been enjoying my new surroundings and the use of a wide range of materials to document and record. Playing with different materials is addictive!
My current work is based on drawing, close observation, and painting in oils, recent subjects include landscapes and still life subjects.
